Delta Sigma Pi - Kappa Tau Chapter ("we", "us", "our") collects the following information from members:
- Personal Information: Name, phone number, and email address
- Academic Information: Year/grade level and pledge class
- Activity Data: Event attendance, points earned, and participation records
- Authentication Data: Login timestamps and session information
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Track your participation and points for chapter requirements
- Send SMS verification codes for secure login
- Send optional event reminders (if you opt-in)
- Maintain accurate chapter membership records
- Generate aggregate statistics for chapter leadership
3. SMS Communications
We use Telnyx to send SMS messages for:
- Authentication: One-time verification codes for login (required)
- Reminders: Event notifications (opt-in only)
You can opt out of reminder texts at any time from your dashboard. Authentication texts are required for login security and cannot be disabled.
4. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored securely in MongoDB Atlas cloud database with:
- Encrypted connections (TLS/SSL)
- Access restricted to chapter administrators
- Regular backups
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. Data may be shared with:
- Delta Sigma Pi national organization (as required by chapter operations)
- Chapter officers for administrative purposes
- Telnyx (our SMS provider, for authentication only)
6. Data Retention
Your data is retained while you are an active member. When you graduate or become inactive, your account may be archived. You may request data deletion by contacting chapter leadership.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Request corrections to inaccurate information
- Opt out of optional communications
- Request account deletion (contact an admin)
